| Welcome
to the Moro Marathon website. The Moro Marathon includes a Half Marathon
and a Half Marathon Recreational Walk. Established in 1979, it is one of
the most scenic Marathons in New Zealand. The Marathon starts close to the
Albatross Colony on the Otago Peninsula, runs around the beautiful Otago
Harbour before finishing at Watson Park, Port Chalmers. Held in early spring
we experience cool but fine weather, perfect for the Marathon and Half Marathon. |

Ideal
weather greeted the athletes competing in the Marathon as they departed
Harrington Point at 8.00 am. with another record number of entries competing
in this years event.
The
Half Marathon Runners & Walkers found perfect conditions awaiting
them at the start of their events at 9.30 am. The strong forecast North
Westerlies winds did not eventuate which suited the record number of competitors
taking part in these events. |
