Frequently Asked Questions
- Q.1 What kilometre markers will there be for the Moro Half Marathon?
- A Markers will be 2k, 5k, 10k, Half-Way, 15k and 20k. "Refer to Full Course Map for all kilometre marks."
- Q.2 Will any bags be transported to the finish at Port Chalmers?
- A Yes - The Race Pack will contain a gear bag, place items in bag, secure and place in the transport provided at the Otago Polytechnic "G Block Building" between Forth Street and Harbour Terrace, North Dunedin,. Gear bags for the Full Marathon will be transported from the start of the Full Marathon and all will be taken to the finish at Port Chalmers.
- Q.3 Where will toilets be on the course?
- A Toilets will be at the start of both events. Also just pass the Drink Station in Wickliffe St (Marathon 30k mark), Logan Park (this is a new location also), Ravensbourne (just pass the Fire Station) and at Curls Point (Blanket Bay). "Refer to Full Course Map for all Toilet locations."
- Q.4 Will there be any transport to the start of the event?
- A All competitors need to make their own way to the Otago Polytechnic "G Block Building". A "FREE" bus will take the Marathon runners to the start at Harington Point (they depart between 6.15 am and 6.30 am).
- Q.5 Is there transport back to Dunedin from Port Chalmers?
- A Yes - "Free" buses will be provided to transport competitors back to Dunedin (Otago Polytechnic "G Block Building"). Buses depart at 15 minute intervals from 11.45 am to 1.15 pm. You can tick the box on the Entry Form if you intend to use this service.
- Q.6 You have permission to run the event between 8.00 am and 1.00 pm. What will happen if Half Marathon Walkers (or runners) that start at 9.30 am take longer than 3.5 hours? Will we be allowed to finish?
- AYou will be allowed to finish the course and your time will be recorded. We expect all competitors to complete the course by 1.00 pm. NO SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED AFTER THIS TIME.
- Q.7 Will the Drinks Station have "Sports Drinks" or only Water?
- A The Drinks Stations will serve only water. With there being many "Sports Drinks" available we have found that most competitors prefer to carry their own. "Refer to Full Course Map for all Drink Station locations."
- Q.8 Am I able to wear my iPod?
- A There are a number of events both here and overseas that don't allow iPods, MP3 players, Walkmans or any kind of earphones in running events. At this stage we are only recommending that competitors refrain from using them.
